During the last two weeks, as part of our unit of
study on water, K1LaD have been talking a lot about the terms 'float' and
'sink'. They've asked and explored some interesting questions about what
affects whether things sink or float.
K1 decided to investigate whether or not they
could design and make boats that would float. The children spent some time
planning this investigation, including considering what resources- tools, medias- they might
need to make the boat, how they would make it and how they would want their
boat to look.
Finally, once all boats were completed and, of
course, colourfully decorated, they tested their boats... Some children, after
testing, decided to adapt their designs, too!
