On Monday morning we had a wonderful time visiting the butterfly park on Sentosa Island. The children learnt all about the life-cycle of a caterpillar/butterfly and got to hold both a butterfly and chrysalis.
They also got to learn more about other creepy crawly insects, such as stick insects, and some children were particularly brave in allowing these to crawl onto their hands and arms!
This week we have been looking at butterflies through our based activities - concentrating on shape, pattern and colour through mathematical symmetry. A favourite artist of mine from the UK, Lily Greenwood, has produced some inspiring beautiful paintings of these delicate creatures.
Thank you to our parent helpers, and we hope you enjoyed this trip as much as we all did.
