This week, as part of our new Mathematics unit on 2D and 3D shapes, we have been looking at 'shapes making shapes'. We have explored how we can use a Tangram (a traditional Chinese puzzle divided into 7 pieces) to make pictures, by changing the orientation of the shapes cut out. A few children took me by complete surprise, and without any support whatsoever, recreated the Tangram's original outer shape!
