This week K1LaD have had a lot of fun sharing our favourite books and developing our interests and love for reading further! The children had such an entertaining Tuesday morning, with our 'Poems in our Pockets'. We had a great variety of poems coming in, including some that were clearly very well versed/rehearsed.
I was saying to a colleague the other day what a noticeable change there is in our children selecting and sharing library books. At the beginning of the year the children would swoop in and out of the library with any old book, not really paying much attention. But now, things are really quite different. During our library time not only do the children spend a good 5-10 minutes or more looking through or for particular books (you see, we know about the varying genres!), they also enjoy sharing these with their friends, asking questions and looking for specific features.
We visit the library every Thursday to change books, and change class reading/selected books Mondays and Thursdays.
Anyway, another great week and here are the highlights:
