Chinese New Year Fun!

Last week...

All the K1's went on a sound walk around the school campus. They were dynamic detectives and had great fun listening for piano (soft, quiet) and forte (loud, hard) sounds. Thank you Miss Imogen for organising this exciting part of the day. You can see 'Sound Walk' photos on our Music Site page (please click on the Music tab link on the top of the main K1 blog page).

Also, random but useful...
Here's a fantastic play-dough recipe, you may like to try out at home:

This week...

The children have been learning all about what Chinese New Year- the year of the horse- means to the citizens of Singapore, through lots of discussion, visiting Chinatown with their Grade 6 buddies, and making their own Chinese vegetable stir-fry.

A huge thanks to all the parent volunteers for both the Chinatown trip and the Chinese cooking- without your support, these activities would not be possible. What a fun morning!
