Just to remind you all, if your child wishes to change their self-selected class book and (in a few weeks time, once issued) their levelled class reading book more frequently than our specific set day, this is absolutely fine. Our specific day for all books to be changed is Thursday, when the children also get to visit the library and change these books too.
We ask, for you to write a note in their 'Reading Record' book requesting a change, which from today will remain in their blue bags, and will be checked daily by Miss Sheila. If she sees their is a request to change either of the above books, we will help your child to choose a new book.
Your child may keep their books- library, self-selected and levelled book- in their bag until Thursday morning, but library books can be given to us earlier than Thursday, to be sure every child can change these.
Please note: Books, particularly library books, cannot be changed until the previous week's books have been returned.
As a team, we have agreed this is the most effective and manageable way of monitoring books. We also recognise that while some children may be happy with only one self-selected and reading book a week, others may want or need more than this, and we encourage this.
